Cartier Watches

When Alfred Cartier began to establish his jewelry business, his sons Pierre, Jacques and Louis Francois Cartier were the ones who made the family business grow. Through the efforts of Louis Cartier, the brand is now the global name of luxury and extravagance in the art of watch making and jewelry. The surname “Cartier” is forever carved in the history of luxury watches. From the passion of Louis Cartier, a known French watchmaker and businessman, he began to design and manufacture his own line of timepieces, focusing more on the classic pocket watch. Back then, Cartier became the supplier to members of the royal court, including Napoleon III, Empress Eugenie, and Countess Nieuwerkerke. Major changes took place when Louis met with Alberto Santos-Dumont, a known Brazilian aviator, who requested for watches that can be worn during his flights, since pocket watches simply won’t do. This request gave birth to the first Cartier wrist watch, the Santos.

The watch not only was loved by the aviator, it was also adored by many of Cartier’s clients. Cartier then signed an agreement with Edmond Jaeger to exclusively supply Cartier watches. This led to the physical presence of Cartier on London, New York and St. Petersburg. The brand then rose to become one of the most successful watch companies in the world. The success of the company, however, was put to a halt when Louis Cartier passed away in 1942 and his successors were unable to match his artistic genius. Things turned around eventually in 1972 when a group of investors took over the company and installed Alain Perrin, a famous antique dealer, as CEO. The growth of the brand Cartier then continued and the rest, as they say, is history.

Today, the models Tank, Tank Francaise, Pasha, Cartier Monde, Cartier Mystery Clock, and Panther make up the best selling models of Cartier. A Cartier watch is finished and perfected to very high levels of quality and fine craftsmanship. Individual bracelets are available in 18k gold, stainless steel, and sometimes encrusted with jewels and diamonds and are carefully handcrafted to exude style, class, elegance, and quality.

The brand is also known to be one of the most sought after luxury watches today.  Famous personalities such as Meryl Streep, Angelina Jolie, Donatella Versace, Donna Karan, Uma Thurman, Gwyneth Paltrow, Princess Caroline, Princess Marie Chantal, Princess Diana and a lot more are all fans of Cartier.

Setting global standards for luxury and design, Cartier continues to create some of the best designs of luxury watched ever seen. Indeed, Cartier can boast with coming up with the most beautiful, most luxurious designs in the world.
