Longines Watches
If there would be one thing that Longines would be known, loved and remembered for, it would be its production of unique and hardy Aviator time pieces, which were crafted to specific specifications, to endure the altitude and velocity of pilots during transatlantic flights; in the true spirit of exploration and discovery that Longines to this day wants the modern world and modern individuals to imbibe. From its simple and humble roots similar to most watch making histories in Switzerland, Longines evolved to efficient mechanized production during the advent of the industrial age. It was in 1847 that an individual by the name of Auguste Agassiz took over the company and renamed it. In 1866, the successor of the original genius made his vision come to life; and with that was the birth of Les Longines.
Longines became well known throughout the world for its technical innovations and technical research, garnering many prices in the centers for excellence around the world, like Antwerp. Over the years, Longines also entered the sport industry, by providing precise time measurement devices that would be the hallmark of its dedication to quality and precision. Longines became also well known by providing its services to equestrian sports. Longines was everywhere, doing many things at once and showing forth its brilliant excellence whenever it was to provide services. Longines provided timing services to F1 or Formula 1 Racing, which showed that it was serious in what it was trying to do.
It was in the decade of the seventies that Longines was able to produce ultra thin variations of time pieces that the world soon grew to love. This, and the innovation thread that had been present since the beginning of the company, had enabled Longines to withstand the demands of the newly globalized market, and was able to keep up with both fashion and technology in one blow.
It was in the year 2001 that the Longines company had produced thirty million watches and time pieces in its factory; and a year later the company Longines celebrated more than a hundred years in existence and operation in the watch making and time piece making industry.
Who came to bat for the elegance that was Longines? In the year 2007, Andre Agassi came to the fore to endorse the Longines brand; and it was a two-way relationship; Andre Agassi endorsed the Longinges watches and Longines produced special editions of Longines watches to benefit the insititution that Agassi had started for children. Another notable individual who had used a Longines time piece was none other than the mathematical genius Albert Einstein.
